During the summer of 1948, Fay Lansner (1922-2010) attended Hans Hofmann’s drawing class in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She continued to study with him during 1949 in New York City with fellow students Jan Muller, Wolf Kahn, Larry Rivers and Grace Hartigan.  Also a student of cultural anthropologist Suzanne Langer at Columbia University, Lansner’s lifelong objective was “to render the subjective in an objective way.”
